- The United States and the Taliban are on target to sign a peace agreement next week after a seven-day period of reduced violence, American and Taliban officials said.

- Democratic presidential hopeful Mike Bloomberg said that he's willing to release at least three women from non-disclosure agreements that prevented them from speaking publicly about sexual harassment or discrimination suits filed against him over the last three decades.

- The window of opportunity to contain wider international spread of the coronavirus is closing, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned and countries must act fast if they are going to control it.
