Today’s episode is all about the intertwining world of rice, wildlife and the environment!

We caught up with Ecologist Matt Herring who gives us insights into the secret life of the Australasian Bittern and explains the Local Land Services Bittern Friendly Rice Project. Results to date for this project has indicated that the density of Bitterns utilising the Bittern Friendly Rice is 3-4 times greater than the control sites. Read more about Matt here: http://www.murraywildlife.com.au/ and Bitterns in Rice Project here: http://www.bitternsinrice.com.au/

We also hear from Hayden Cudmore who grew Bittern Friendly Rice about how he found it and tips to other growers. If you want to hear more from Hayden, you can watch this video released by SunRice: https://vimeo.com/409395005

And do you want to hear how winter cereals are tracking? Agronomist James Mann (Yenda Producers Cooperative) gives us an update on the season to date.
