Tonight’s guest is esteemed journalist and sports author Jonathan Eig. Jon hales from Chicago and, starting in the mid-1980s, he has worked as a journalist for the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Dallas Morning News, Chicago Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal.
In 2005 he published his first book "The Luckiest Man: the life and death of Lou Gehrig" which earned critical acclaim and won the Casey Award for the best baseball book released in 2005.
Since then he has released four more critically acclaimed books dealing with Jackie Robinson, Al Capone, the birth of the Pill, and his most recent book a biography of Muhammad Ali.
Tonight we will be discussing his first book "The Luckiest Man" on the eve of the 80th anniversary of baseball legend Lou Gehrig’s death on June 2, 1941.
