Here in the third week of Advent, I want to consider the shepherds. Shepherds are the lowest class of people in the ancient Hebrew mind.  Why would God choose such a lowly class of individuals to reveal such good news?  Like the shepherds, gentiles too were considered “less than,” and it is the gentile doctor, Luke, who gives us the best glimpse into God’s revelation to the shepherds.  Let us see what truth we can apply to our lives which the shepherds demonstrate.
