In this week’s vegan Academy Podcast Vegan Fitness Coach Brian Langowski shares with us his insights about how to live a sustainable healthy vegan lifestyle.

After being a personal trainer for almost 6 years Brian is slowly transitioning his business more and more online.

From first-hand experience, he knows the effect of consuming loads of animal products on your health and well-being. As a former athlete, even though he seemed to be at his peak, he never felt like. That’s also why he is very driven so show people how it can be done differently.

Brian wants to spread the message of health. Which isn’t always the case within the fitness industry. Especially because of the focus on protein and the physical side.

He teaches people that when you focus on health the body comes along with it.

People are often very resistant to change. Especially when it comes to veganism. Because what you eat is such a big part of your day and life. So instead he shows people how to take little steps at a time. And by getting the results they are more likely to take the next steps.

One of the biggest things holding us back is the fear of failure.

Which is probably the most important part of fitness, because you will fail all the time. It is something you have to be ok with that instead of it letting you down.

Failure is important to help you grow.

Our minds are our biggest limiting factors. When you say I can't do this, you limit yourself. Changing the way you look at things, changes the things you look at.

Belief in yourself first, being in tune, and honest with yourself.

If you cant see it in your mind, you will never achieve it.

Be kind to yourself and practice patience. You cant expect the lifestyle or unhealthy habits you have build up over decades to be gone within days or weeks.

It’s not about succeeding it's about constantly growing. That’s what is going to help you create those life-lasting changes.

Brian goes deeper into the various factors of making sustainable changes towards a healthy vegan lifestyle.

He emphasizes the role of fiber and quality sleep on our mental and physical health.

And finishes with a thought-provoking question:

Does it matter how long it takes for you to get the results you want to, if in the process you make sustainable changes, create new habits, and actually be healthy?
