Last week, members of the CFMEU placed a historic Green Ban on two heritage buildings in Parramatta in an attempt to slow down their demolition for the creation of the new Powerhouse Museum. This was an important step in the government backing down from their plan to move the current Powerhouse Museum from Inner City Sydney to the Western Suburbs. As Eva argues, although the residents of Parramatta may be annoyed now, this leaves the path free for two great Sydney museums, rather than just one.
