For today’s episode of chART, we embarked on a mission to discuss how the contemporary art world has tackled the COVID-19 situation. Half-way through it we realized that this topic is so extensive that we would barely scratch the tip of the iceberg were we to devote the next decade of episodes to it. So in order to make do with a twenty-minutes-long banter, we will funnel it down to a selection of two artworks as a follow-up to yesterday’s episode on Influenza-inspired art. The chART squad will discuss not only their meaning and how they relate to the latest pandemic, but also how they act as bridges into broader (as well as unresolved, for the most part) debates in the art world.
