Hear from presenters Dr. Gladys Cruz, District Superintendent, Questar III BOCES, and Dr. Lupita Hightower, Superintendent, Tolleson Elementary School District, as they highlight the work being done by students, faculty, staff, parents/guardians and community members to advance district visions of creating a positive learning environment for all students that is equitable, inclusive and focused on the whole child. Each leader explores three questions: (1) What am I doing? (2) Why are we doing this? And (3) How do I make it better? A discussion on belief systems and high expectations for all students is led by moderator Dr. Carol Kelley, Superintendent of Oak Park Elementary District 97.

Essential Questions Include:

• What types of actions are effective to ensure an intentional equity agenda?
• How can districts meet the vision that every child is capable of success without exception?
• Why is examining a district’s own strategies and practices needed to shine a light on disparities within the system?

Listeners learn about strategies to address systemic disparities and inequities in order to benefit all students.
