Jephthah Judges 11

1 Sam 12:11 “Then the LORD sent Jerub-Baal, Barak, Jephthah and Samuel, and he delivered you from the hands of your enemies on every side, so that you lived securely.” 1. God uses those society abuses.

  1. Haste leads to rash decisions. Proverbs 29:20 Do you see someone who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than for them. Proverbs 12:18 There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings healing.
  2. Guard your words, they mean something. James 5:12 Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear--not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple "Yes" or "No." Otherwise you will be condemned.
  3. Humility should be honored. PR 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. PR 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. PR 13:10 Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.
