In this #impulsechats I speak with Stephanie Golder @steph_incredibleedible about understanding why FOOD IS POLITICAL, how climate change begins in the kitchen and suggestions for what we can be doing as individuals & communities to help..Connect with Sarah Barnes @impulseyoga_ www.impulseyoga.com.About Stephanie::'After studying politics and working in social care, with stints of environmental activism throughout my 20s, I quit my job in 2018 to focus on my passion for food, specifically to learn about organic growing and the environmental impact of our diets. The food system we have now is broken causing huge planetary damage, biodiversity loss, and health issues caused by poor diet and poverty. Covid-19 has exposed the vulnerabilities of our current corporate owned food supply. Food is integral to life and a fundamental part of celebrations and social interactions around the globe, but the value we place on it is low and our relationship to food has disconnected. We need to create a regenerative food system which allows everyone access to good quality, affordable and sustainably grown food that supports our farmers and local communities. How do we swap industrial and often faceless food production for a more localised and resilient system? I really want to open these conversations up more widely, as most of us make food choices three or more times a day and we have purchasing power to be able to truly make a difference!'.Stephanie’s links & recommendations :: @steph_incredibleedible@madeinhackney @organicleacommunitygrowers . @landworkersalliance Tristram Stuart - Author of ‘Waste’, founder of food waste org Feedback - inourhands.film - seedthemovie.com @hollyrose.eco @greengirlleah @jacks_patch .
