Basically Corduroy is a very determined bear who wants a home away from the giant department store, where he lives with all the other toys. A little girl named Lisa fell in love with Corduroy at first sight. At the end of the book, Corduroy and Lisa were both happy; they both got what they wanted, Corduroy a friend, and Lisa, her own bear.
