Having told his readers they must contend for the faith because there are those who have crept in unnoticed, false teachers, already attacking the faithful, in verses 5-16 Jude draws open Old Testament and extra-biblical examples very familiar to his Jewish believing readers to show them the characteristics of false teachers and what God has done, is doing, and will do about them.
