Will Jesus Return in 2020? Matthew 24:32-44
42 "Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. 43 "But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. 44 "For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will. Questions: 1. If you knew for certain that Jesus would return before December 31, 2020 AD what difference would it make? In YOUR LIFE?
Yes! There is no prophecy that must be fulfilled prior to His Return.
Do people SCOFF when we talk about Jesus Return? Yes! Read 2 Peter 2:3-4
2 Peter 3:3-4 (NASB) 3 Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, 4 and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation."
Does the fact that unbelievers SCOFF make it less real? NO!
What people? Which People SCOFF? The same people who scoff at the idea that
That they need to be saved.
Why even ask this question?
He does not make meaningless promises. 2 Peter 3:8-9
2 Peter 3:8-9 (NASB) 8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. 9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
