I WAS TRYING TO IMPRESS HER
I was a freshmen in high school
Morning of my first day
I was nervous
I was excited
I didn’t know what to expect
This girl caught my eye
Naturally I didn’t talk to her at all and added her on social media
Someone on the bus over heard her saying she liked dudes with abs
At that moment it was my mission to start going towards that direction no matter what it took
“If you wanna get abs just join wrestling”
First day sign ups were on I joined, no idea what wrestling even was, I just know that if I wanted abs I better join this sport
Me having the motivation to get abs was so high that it lead me to a life changing decision
First day of try outs 2 mile runs, wrestling for 1 hour, calisthenics, I was exhausted
I embraced that grind, I thrived off of it because I knew it would get me abs
I learned to push through things when I didn’t want to
I realized when it’s triple over time…your not done….
And yes I got my abs
But the person who I became out of that journey didn’t even care about abs
I cared about my team, I cared about winning, I cared about pushing my limits to a place I’d never been
So you might miss this feeling of being part of a team and having that why whether it’s to impress a girl, be there for your team, school pride
But you have never really Fallen in love with the process.
The process being the practices, the weight training sessions, the background stuff no one wants to do or talk about…
People cheer on touchdowns, big plays, home runs, 4th quarter crunch time
You can’t be hung up on what people glorify if YOU want to lose these next 10-20lbs
YOU need to start the process by getting in the gym consistently just like fucking practice
But this time it’s different theres no teammates no crowd rooting for you…
So now we GET to see what your truly made of
You have the work ethic
You just NEED to unlock that beast again but this time for YOUR own fitness.
Fitness isn’t a sport…it’s a fucking lifestyle
There’s no big event this time. The event is you looking the best you ever have and becoming the person who DESERVES the results
