Almond milk vs Whole milk
I’m sure you’ve heard the controversy between these two. “Which one is better”, “which one is healthier” , “which one is better for weight loss”, I gotchu guys just keep reading...
Just for the record I really only drink almond milk because regular whole milk just doesn’t always digest super well for me, so I stray away from it but I’ll still give you the facts.
So if your in a fat loss phase or cutting calories and trying to be conservative it might benefit you to go with almond milk because it’s going to have that lower amount of calories, usually around 30-60 calories per cup depending if you get sweetened or unsweetened. Where as whole milk is a around 150 calories cup. But also with almond milk if it’s not fortified with calcium and vitamin D you might miss out on some of the benefits that whole milk has to offer. But overall for fat loss I’m gonna go with almond milk , just due to the lower amount of calories you get per cup. But be sure to supplement those missing vitamins your not getting.
Whole milk on the other hand is most likely going to be best suited for bulking purposes. I would say this because of the higher amount of calories. With this higher amount of calories also comes higher fat content, which some of it is saturated fats which should never take up a lot of your diet. However though there are so many nutrients that come from whole milk like previously mentioned like calcium, and vitamin D. Diary also is always a high quality way of getting in protein in your body, and there is more protein available in whole milk (around 8 grams) . it can absorb the protein better overall in your body, and it will retain the protein better. But don’t forget it has that 8 grams of fats and 5 grams of saturated fat as well.
But don’t forget you can use either of these for gaining weight or losing weight! At the end of the day it’s all about your calorie intake. Hope this helps some of you out much love fam
