What have you learned from your mistakes?  

I look back at one of my early videos from 3 years ago and highlight 5 mistakes and the lessons learned when it comes to recording #videos:  

❌ Bad audio - Audio is so important. 🎤 Even more than video. At the very least, make sure you have a lapel mic to give you clear & crisp sound.

❌ Image not focused - If there’s a speaker, make sure the face is focused. On a smartphone, tap on the face of the subject to focus. 🔎 Backgrounds can be slightly blurry.  

❌ Recording outside - Unless you have a great mic, external noises can be distracting. I recorded beside a construction zone with beeping trucks! 🚛  

❌ Distractions - Windy conditions and external factors can leave us flustered. It was cold and the November wind 💨 was whipping my hair into my face. I was already nervous so it got distracting! Find calm conditions to ease your nerves.  

❌ Mispronunciations - Make sure you pronounce your guests names properly & practice. I was so nervous. If you say it wrong, then correct yourself on camera. 🤦🏻‍♀️
