It's Monday. Are you ready to start the workweek? Begin by focusing on your life as child of God.  Follow this pattern for Monday: Matthew 5:3-6

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

His words seem backwards compared to the world around us.

Think about other virtues and values of our American culture.  What else about the Kingdom of God is backwards by comparison?

Jesus has a way of saying what no one else is saying and doing what no one else does.  Thank God for his backwards grace, his love for sinners, his life for ours.
