It’s Sunday and you need rest. Follow this pattern on the day of Sabbath: Luke 10:1-2
"After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
Have you ever worked at a job that was perpetually short-staffed? The hours go up and so does the stress. Morale and patience go down. It’s not a fun place to be.
Jesus says “the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few”. At first it sounds like the Kingdom of God is short-staffed. And it’s up to those of us who are left to somehow, someway bring in this abundant harvest.
The harvest belongs to Jesus.
Jesus’ yoke is easy. His burden is light. And so you can rest, knowing that the Lord of the Harvest is working even when you are not.
