Welcome to Part III of the third sector of our mega-series: Am I Always Going to Be Alone? Finding Your Fairytale from our ME³! podcast.
We start right where we left off in part 2 in which Brandi had just finished talking about her abduction. We continue further on that thread about how victimizers take advantage of insecurity and self doubt. It makes a person easier to shape into whatever the victimizer wants them to become. We point out how relying on others for stability in your identity and for decision-making is a huge opening to exploitation. It's important that you surround yourself with people that help reinforce you in your sense of self and personal power. We further discuss another side of self doubt: what it's like having to recover from bad things that happen to you from having insecurity in the first place. The good news is that with dedicated effort and a little help in rebuilding a person's self image, it is fully possible to overcome the blows to self-confidence and gain better decisiveness.
