Welcome to Part I of the third sector of our mega-series: Am I Always Going to Be Alone? Finding Your Fairytale from our ME³! podcast.
From the beginning we tackle what insecurity and self-doubt are and what they do to us in our daily lives. As Brandi puts it at the beginning, self doubt turns you inward completely and is self sabotaging. We discuss how insecurities come from a warped perspective that is based on lies about us and how we should value ourselves. This can cause us to become cut off from others and deny us the connection we need as people. The anxious and depressive thoughts that come from these issues grows increasingly stronger in a feedback loop if we don't recognize the patterns and get out. Brandi also shares her high school experience of being judged by others and how her self-doubting led to behaviors that only increased the bad treatment she received and how out of place she felt. We launch from that springboard to talk action steps about how we should define our value, not letting ourselves feel put down by comparison to others or even our own past.
