Stan Rushworth is of Cherokee descent and an enrolled citizen of the Chiricahua Apache Nation.

He is the author of "Going to Water: The Journal of Beginning Rain" and "Sam Woods: America Healing", and teaches Native American Literature at Cabrillo College in Aptos, California.
