I begin with the story of two kings who lived more than 2,500 years ago. So much to learn from history. Through the hand of the prophet Daniel, the Bible tells the story of kings Nebuchadnezzar, and his descendant, Belshazzar, how they governed, how they ruled, and how they were humbled. Beholden to the mindset that they built their own kingdoms and it was all about them, they lived in stubborn defiance of God and hardened pride of self. But the Bible warns sternly about pride. It is the beginning of evil. One of these kings eventually repented. The other did not (as far as we know from the account). And finally, a modern-day example of a leader. Which one is he? Well, let me ask you, how do you see a leader of a nation who believes in and actively promotes lawlessness?
