This is a podcast where I share my experiences and offer my perspective about the many challenges we face in life.
Two brothers tragically lost their lives while trying to rescue their neighbor from a violent situation with her abusive boyfriend. Direct intervention can be dangerous. If someone's life is genuinely in danger it's your decision whether you physically intervene or not, but know it comes with risks. What would you do?
In a shocking turn of events, a fireworks dispute between neighbors escalated into a deadly confrontation, resulting in the tragic death of a 48-year-old woman. This episode delves into the harrowing details of the conflict, revealing how a seemingly ordinary disagreement over fireworks spiraled out of control.
14-year-old Bryson Muir has been missing since June 16, 2024. He was last seen leaving a family member’s home in Ohio with his mother, Kristen Muir, in a white 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. A Silver Alert has been issued, and Bryson is believed to be in danger due to allegations of abuse at home. Despite efforts by Indiana State Police, Bryson's parents have been uncooperative. Please watch, share, and help spread the word to bring Bryson home safely. If you have any information, contact local authorities immediately.

In this episode, I talk about a substitute teacher at a Las Vegas High School who was involved in a physical altercation with a student. This has led many to question who was wrong in this situation. In general, physical violence is not an acceptable means of resolving conflicts, especially in an educational setting where safety and respect should be paramount. Ultimately, both the student and the teacher bear responsibility for maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment, and any physical altercation is a breach of that responsibility.

In this episode, I talk about a situation that happened at a Chipotle where an employee was shot in the leg by a customer over extra guacamole. It's crazy that some people will do stuff like this without even thinking about the consequences of their actions.

In this episode, I talk about a pastor in Memphis who is now recovering after being shot by carjackers who attempted to steal a vehicle belonging to another church member on the property of his church. When it comes to criminals, this shows how they don't care about who they hurt and injure in the process of carrying out their criminal activities.

In this episode, I provide an update on the missing 12-year-old in Texas. E'minie Hughes was found safe and has been returned to her family. A 27-year-old man was arrested and now is the focus of an ongoing investigation. Please talk to your children about the dangers of being online.

In this episode, I talk about an incident at a Burger King in Atlanta that stemmed from a burger order taking too long. It's insane that things like this happen with a complete disregard for the lives and safety of others. All of this went down over a hamburger. I wish I were making this stuff up, but sadly, it's real.

In this episode, I talk about the situation that happened down in Mississippi where a young mother had her child in a grocery store cart cold with nothing but a diaper on. A former Walmart employee recorded the situation and eventually was fired. Was she fired for doing the right thing? Or was she fired for posting the video to social media?

In this episode, I talk about a black man who was arrested in Houston, TX, and charged with robbery based on flawed facial recognition technology used by the store that is accusing him of committing the crime. He spent two weeks in jail before being released and having the case against him dropped. But what happened before he was released is just tragic and he is now suing the companies that accused him of being the suspect when it wasn't him.

Do you remember the Brick Lady? Well, she's now wanted for theft by deception. It appears that she made up the whole story of being hit in the head with a brick. After recording the video of the made-up incident, she went on to get over 40,000 dollars in donations on GoFundMe. Her page has been shut down and she is banned from using the platform. Now, the man that she accused of hitting her with a brick breaks his silence.

In this episode, I talk about a man who terrorized and bullied an entire neighborhood for 3 years. He eventually assaulted his elderly neighbor and was arrested. But why did this go on for so long?

In this episode, I have a question. Should old people be given a pass just because they're old? An old man slapped a Taco Bell employee because he said that the food caused his microwave to blow up. The employee showed restraint after being slapped, but what would you do?
By the way, I'm sorry about the audio when the jets came flying over. That's what happens when living in a city with an Air Force base. Peace y'all.

In this episode, I talk about the recent verbal and physical altercations caused by the limited edition release of a Valentine's Day Stanley Cup. No, this isn't the NHL's Stanley Cup. Amazingly, people are willing to put themselves in harm's way and possibly lose their lives and freedom over a damn cup. But check this one out as I share my thoughts about the situation.

In this first episode of 2024, I talk about choosing your battles wisely. This is a saying that we've all heard before, but it seems that some of us rarely follow that saying. A pastor has found himself in trouble after being called by his wife to come to her job because she felt other employees were "disrespecting" her. Her husband eventually assaulted another employee and was later arrested. Check this next one out and again choose your battles wisely.

His parents now believe that there is more to the story.

In this episode, I talk about the verdict that was reached in the case of Hannah Payne who shot and killed Kenneth Herring back in 2019. A verdict was reached and she was found guilty on all charges. Let this be a lesson as to why you can't walk around out here trying to play police because you may end up on the wrong side of the law.

In this episode, I talk about the attempted destruction of Dr. King's childhood home. A 26-year-old Navy veteran is currently under arrest and charged for trying to set the historical landmark on fire. The big question I think everyone has is why. Why was this historical landmark her target? Thankfully, she was stopped by some good samaritans before she was able to light the gasoline that she poured onto the home.

In this episode, I'm talking about the recent shooting at UNLV out here in Las Vegas. Do gun-free zones keep us safe? I'm asking because every time something like this happens, they happen where people are less likely to be armed. But there is a University in Lynchburg, VA called Liberty University that allows students and faculty to conceal carry firearms on campus. Are they on to something as far as a solution is concerned when it comes to dealing with mass shootings/active shooters at schools and college campuses?

In this episode, I talk about a mother in Miami who is now in trouble for trying to use a car to run over kids who were jumping on her son. In this episode, I talk about love. What's love? Is it worth your freedom and life? There's a saying that love don't cost a thing, but unfortunately, this young lady found out that it does. She has to turn herself in on Nov. 17th, 2023 because she purchased firearms for her ex-boyfriend who wasn't supposed to have them, which is illegal. She did it all in the name of love. But check out this episode where I share my thoughts about the situation.

In this episode, I talk about a gospel singer almost getting kicked off a flight for failing to follow instructions. She wanted to get up and sing, but the flight leader wasn't having any of it. In this episode, I talk about a thug-themed birthday party where young children were flashing money and waving guns. When it comes to being a parent, you have to be careful about what you expose your kids to. There's nothing cool about being a thug or wanting to emulate the thug lifestyle. In short, stop glorifying and celebrating that type of lifestyle.

In this episode, I talk about a hit-and-run that was caught on camera. An 11-year-old child was walking to school when he was struck by a car while crossing the street. The driver didn't stop at the stop sign and didn't even stop after hitting the child. What kind of person does that?

In this episode, I talk about pranks and the people who run up on unsuspecting strangers to pull off these so-called pranks. This next one is coming out of Houston where two men are now facing felony charges after pulling a gun on people and even punching someone in the back of the head at a park. They did this saying that it was all a prank. But there's nothing funny about it.

In this episode, I talk about the importance of paying attention when you're out and about. A lot of times we can become distracted by things that are not important for us to focus on at that moment. When we lose focus or get too comfortable in places, we can sometimes make ourselves easy targets for those who have bad intentions. So, please pay attention to your surroundings.

In this episode, I'm talking about a man who posted about a 7,000 dollar settlement that he received and he was taken out by his friend a day later. Be careful about what you post on social media. When you put certain information out there in the public, it can be very dangerous.

This is just dumb. In this next episode, I talk about a situation where three people were arguing about who had more money and the biggest gun. They all had the opportunity to walk away but decided that their egos were more important than their lives.

In this episode, I talk about a woman who was fired from a popular fast-food chain because of some videos she recorded and posted online highlighting the disgusting conditions of the establishment. I'm back at it and on this one, I wanted to talk about a dispute over extra taco meat and how it led to a Cleveland woman getting caught on video doing something disgusting. In this episode, I'm talking about why your personal safety is your responsibility. Nobody is coming to save you. Don't expect other people, or strangers to get involved when you're distressed. Would it be nice if someone did step in? Yes, it would be nice but we don't live in a nice world. So, do yourself a favor and take your personal safety seriously. Stop trying to shame people for their refusal to step in. That's their choice and you have to respect that.
In this episode, I talk about a video where a masked man with a gun was caught on someone's doorbell video camera pretending to look for his puppy. This whole situation is funny, strange, and disturbing all at the same time. I don't know how he could possibly think that someone would open the door for him. But unfortunately, there would have been someone who would have opened the door for this guy without even checking to see who was there.
Imagine coming home from work to your apartment and all of your stuff is in the dumpster. Then you find out management got the unit number wrong and most of your things were taken by others. After admitting that they made a mistake, they only had your urine-soaked mattress professionally cleaned after being outside next to the dumpster all day. What would you do? That is what happened to a man in Dallas, Texas. But wait, there's more...
Sometimes I think that we can place too much emphasis on being tough and hard all the time. In this episode, I talk about the incident that led to a high school football coach being arrested after punching a player during a game. People are going back and forth about whether the coach went too far and that he was just trying to "toughen" the kid up a little. So, check this one out as I share my thoughts about the situation. Thanks for watching/listening.
In this episode, I talk about a Florida man who was caught injecting some type of chemical under his neighbor's door. This was like some real-life Revenge Of The Nerds type of stuff. But this just goes to show you that not every criminal will come with a knife or a gun to harm you.
In this episode, I talk about being careful when answering your door. This is something that I talked about before, but I wanted to talk about it again because of a situation where a man had to defend himself and his family from would-be robberies while at home. So, check out this episode where I share my thoughts about the situation.
In this episode, I talk about an Airbnb birthday party ending in gunfire in a local Las Vegas community at 2:30 am while residents were sleeping. This situation left a lot of residents in this quiet community afraid for their safety and were understandably upset. Check out this episode where I share my thoughts about the situation.
In this episode, I'm talking about a situation that occurred between an armed security guard and a shoplifter that resulted in the shoplifter being shot. A lot of retail stores have started to increase security to deter thefts at their stores. Did this security guard go too far? Check out this next one where I share my thoughts about the situation.
In this episode, I talk about the sentencing of former Las Vegas Raiders player Henry Ruggs. He was sentenced to 3 to 10 years for the 2021 crash that took the lives of a young woman, Tina Tintor, and her dog. This is a perfect example of how making a bad decision can harm the lives of others. So, check this out where I share my thoughts about the situation.
PSA: If you go out starting some sh*t you better be prepared to back it up. Also, understand that some people don't care about going to jail or losing a job. I'm talking about the situation that happened in Montgomery, AL that is being called the Montgomery Brawl. So, I'm just sharing my thoughts about the situation. Thanks for checking me out.
In this episode, I talk about the situation involving 4 adults and one 17-year-old who was working at a local restaurant. The 4 adults attacked this teen to the point where he was knocked unconscious. This was just uncalled for and it doesn't make any sense. Check out this episode where I share my thoughts about the situation.
What would you do or how would you feel after working for 30 years for a company and then you find out that you may not get your pension? In this episode, I talk about a video that is going viral of a truck driver's reaction after finding out that his pension may be in jeopardy. Check it out and thanks for tapping in.
In this episode, I talk about the Carlee Russell situation. Police had a press conference. They shared some information involving their investigation and it's not looking good for her. There are still a lot of questions that I think we all have. It's only a matter of time before the truth is revealed. Check it out as I share my thoughts about everything so far.
In this episode, I talk about the situation where an American woman is being detained in Dubai and charged with screaming in public. A lot of people have talked about maybe she was over there acting a fool and got arrested. But I wanted to go in a different direction and bring up the matter of tourist extortion. Check out this episode where I share my thoughts about the matter.
In this episode, I share my thoughts about an 8-year-old down in Montgomery, Alabama who carjacked someone at gunpoint and led police on a chase before crashing the car. At first, I couldn't believe this story was real. The question I think so many people have is where are the parents in these situations. So check out this episode and thanks for tapping in.
In this episode, I talk about choosing your friends wisely. It's important to understand that some people who we call friends are not really our friends. I share my thoughts about a situation where a young man was left injured in the back of a stolen car and his so-called friends jumped out and left him after the car crashed. So, check it out, and thank you for tapping in with me.
In this episode, I talk about a situation where a 7-11 clerk chased down a woman who stole a salad. He then pulled a firearm and shot this woman three times in the back ending her life. It's just a horrible situation. All of this over a salad, really?
In this episode, I'm talking about the situation that happened in Chicago at a hot dog stand where a mother and her 14-year-old son had murder charges dropped after initially being named as suspects for shooting a man who punched the mother. Check out this episode where I share my thoughts about the incident.
In this episode, I talk about a video where a woman at an airport in Miami was being rude and disrespectful to a wheelchair agent at the airport. If you like to be rude & disrespectful to people, one day your mouth will get you into trouble. This lady is lucky because this worker had a great deal of patience. But understand not everyone will be as patient as this guy was. But check this one out as I share my thoughts about the situation.
In this episode, I'm talking about a video that was shared online, where a woman sent 300 dollars a week to her ex-boyfriend. But here's the shocker, she did it using her current boyfriend's money. So, I decided to make this an episode where I shared my thoughts about the situation. Sometimes you have to start doing background checks on people when it comes to getting involved in a serious relationship with them. Check out this episode and let this be a lesson because some people can be scandalous.
In this short episode, I talk about how your coworkers are not your friends. Too many times we can get caught up at work by thinking that the people we work with are our friends. The lines between your workplace relationships and your personal lives can be blurred. Remember to keep your personal business to yourself, do your job, get your money, and go home. So, check out this episode where I share my thoughts about friends in the workplace. Thanks for watching and listening.
I'm back at it with another episode. Should parents be held accountable for the actions of their children? I recently came across an interview that a mother did with a local news station in Baltimore. Her son was shot by police after a foot chase. During the chase, he took out a gun, a stolen gun before being shot. He has since been released from the hospital and is now in custody facing charges. But the interview that the mom gave and her statements about him having the gun is unbelievable. Check out this episode where I share my thoughts about that interview and the entire situation.
If you're a business owner and you have people working for you in your establishment, stop being cheap and stop cutting corners. It may cost someone their life. A 63-year-old woman in Louisiana froze to death after being trapped inside a walk-in freezer at Arby's. That door on the freezer was broken for 10 months and upper management did nothing to fix it. This should have never happened. But check out this episode where I share my thoughts about the situation.
*Update: The woman who froze inside the freezer had filed a maintenance report as well and the door still wasn't fixed.
Do company policies about no weapons at work keep you safe? I'm asking this question because of a situation that occurred between a Charlotte, NC bus driver and a passenger. The passenger pulled a gun on the bus driver after the driver refused to make an unauthorized stop and then the bus driver pulled a gun of his own. They got into a shootout on the bus. The bus driver was eventually fired because the company has a no-weapons policy in place that prevents employees from possessing weapons while on the job. Obviously, there is an issue with safety that caused this bus driver to have to be armed while performing his duties. But check out this episode where I share my thoughts about the situation.
I'm back at it with another one. In this episode, I break down a video that was captured in someone's backyard where an Amazon driver chased down a package thief. The driver was able to recover the package after one of the thieves told on the other one. Things turned out well, but it made me think about how things could have gone wrong. Then I also thought about how sometimes we put our jobs before our own lives and personal safety. So, check out this episode where I share my thoughts about the situation. Thanks for listening.
It's been said that you can't lay the bricks, plaster the walls and paint the woodwork in the same day. But what about getting drunk, fired, and arrested? Check out the latest episode, where I break down this situation where a woman got drunk at work and refused to leave after she was fired. The cops were called and she still refused to leave and eventually, she was arrested. Who stays at work after getting fired? If they tell me I'm fired, I'm throwing them the peace sign and telling them to have my last check ready. But anyway, check it out.
I'm back at it again. In this episode, I talk about line-cutting and some of the people who do it. For whatever reason there are some people who feel like they don't have to wait their turn. Then when they get caught cutting the line, they want to get mad and argue about it. Some people have even gotten physical about it. But it just makes no sense. So, check out this episode where I share my thoughts about it.
Watch who you call your friends. In this episode, I'm talking about the tragic situation that happened in Austin, TX where a woman went missing after a night out with her friends. Her body was found 5 days later about 70 miles from the original location. Her friends had her personal belongings after a fight where she was jumped. She was kicked out of the bar and the fight spilled outside of the bar they were attending. According to her friends, she just stormed off without her keys, purse, bank card, and her cellphone after the fight. Something doesn't seem right with this situation. A lot of people are saying the friends had something to do with this. I personally believe there's more to the story that the friends are telling. Check out this episode where I share my thoughts about it.
In this episode, I talk about company potlucks, bringing food from home so that other people can eat it, and food left in the breakroom at work. Some people are just plain nasty when it comes to food. You can't eat food from just anybody and you can't just eat food left out, especially when there are other people eating the same food. You really don't know what habits people have when it comes to cleanliness, but check out this episode where I share my thoughts about potlucks. Thanks for listening.
In this episode, I talk about a statement that some parents like to say. I don't know who this applies to, but if you check out this episode, it might apply to you or somebody you know as a parent. So, check it out, I wanted to give you my thoughts about this statement that I wish people who are parents would stop saying. Thanks for listening. Oh BTW, this is just part 1, I might make this a series or something.
In this episode, I talk about a tragic situation that happened in Mississippi where two cousins were shot and killed after arriving at someone's home starting an argument. The entire situation was captured on Facebook Live. This is a prime example of why you shouldn't go to someone's home to start trouble. Everyone is saying that the lady who shot them went too far. But keep in mind they came to her property. Regardless of what the disagreement was about, they shouldn't have been there. They were even asked to leave multiple times and didn't. So, check out this episode where I share my thoughts about the situation. Thanks for listening.
In this episode, I talk about being careful when answering your door. The criminal element never sleeps. They're always active and looking for easy targets. We don't hear a lot about staying safe when inside our homes. Your home is your castle and you will have to be prepared to defend it if invaders come to your doorstep with ill intentions. Don't get complacent just because you're at home. Stay ready and stay safe at all times, even inside your home. Thanks for listening.
In this episode, I discuss an altercation between a North Carolina substitute teacher and a student over a cell phone. There seems to be a divide between people saying that the teacher was in the wrong and then some stating that the teacher was right. But I see now why so many teachers are quitting the profession. The teacher in that incident decided to leave teaching after 22 years. Again, I see why so many teachers are deciding to quit. It's just not worth your safety and in knowing that, it's best to just walk away sometimes. But check out this episode and let me know what you think about the situation. Thanks for listening.
In this episode, I talk about spitting on people. This comes from a video of a black woman being spit on by a "Karen" in a hotel lobby who decided she didn't belong there. First of all, we all know that spitting on people is wrong. It's the highest form of disrespect. But if you spit on someone, you better be prepared for a fight. So, check out this episode where I share my thoughts about the situation. Thanks for listening.
In this episode, I talk about a video that I came across where a lady posted a video of former NBA player Delonte West at a 7-11 store. She records him and then proceeds to laugh from her vehicle. Before recording the video, she stated that she doesn't believe in posting or recording videos of people at their lowest. I wanted to share my thoughts about the situation. I'm not sure what her intentions were, but when people fall don't be so quick to laugh, pull out your cell phone, and record them when they're going through something. So, check it out and let me know what you think.

In this episode, I thought it would be a good reminder to talk about respecting other people's property. For whatever reason, some people don't respect personal or public property. It should be common sense to know that you should return something that you burrow. Also, take care of it and don't damage it. You are responsible for whatever happens to that property when it's in your possession. If you can't do that, you may not need to ask to use it and probably should get your own stuff. But check out this episode where I offer my thoughts on the matter.

In this episode, I talk about when pranks go wrong to the point where someone is injured or worse. What might seem like a harmless prank to you can send someone else over the edge. These pranks that are being played on people in the public are very dangerous. If you're someone who likes to play pranks on people in the public, especially people that you don't know, think twice before you get yourself hurt or you end up hurting someone else. Leave people alone. Don't get mad when people react a certain way when they don't find your prank or joke to be funny.

This isn't an anti-technology rant. In this episode, I talk about recognizing the signs of being too dependent on technology. Sometimes we can rely too much on the technology that we use. As we become a more advanced society we have to be mindful of the dangers that we face in the process. There is always a trade-off. So, check out this latest episode of the Mike Styles Experience. Thanks for listening.

So check out this short episode and thanks for listening.

This is the last episode of 2021. In this last episode of the year, I give you 4 reasons why I'm not impressed by the material possessions of others. We can sometimes go a little overboard with our obsession with material possessions. We think that others will be impressed by what we have. In reality, they don't care. So, check out this episode where I give you my reasons why I'm not impressed with the material possessions of others. Thanks for checking me out.

This is sort of a follow up to an episode that I recorded two years ago talking about greed. I wanted to share my thoughts about it after witnessing a situation where the person was being greedy and inconsiderate of other people. Greed can corrupt us. It can cause us to do a lot things that are not aligned with our normal character. Sometimes we can focus too much on accumulation to a point where we don't focus enough on contributing. So, check out this episode and as always thanks for listening.

In this episode, I'm talking about keeping an eye on the company that you keep. The people that you allow to be around you can have an impact on your life. We have to do our best to not allow "bad company" around us and in our circles. So, check out this episode where I share my thoughts about keeping positive people around us. Positive people who will encourage us and celebrate our success. People who you will enjoy being around and not try to dodge when you see them approaching.

In this episode, I'm talking about life and how it's too short. Sometimes we can take time for granted. We put off things that we think we will be able to later. The reality is that we don't know if we will be around later to do those things. Tomorrow ain't promised. If there are things that you want to do in your life, do it now. While you're doing them, don't forget to create fun memories and moments. Cherish the ones in your life. Tell them that you love them because they won't be with us forever.

This is an unplanned episode, but I wanted to talk a little bit about the murder of Young Dolph. When we become successful, we have to watch how we move out here. Understand that there will be others who for whatever reason are envious of the success that you gain. When you come from an environment where people around you are struggling and in poverty, you just have to move differently. Don't get too comfortable. So, check out this episode and thanks for listening.

In this episode, I'm talking about how seeds of doubt are planted within our minds from outside sources. We don't realize that our experiences aren't the same. Circumstances, situations, and environments may be similar, but our experiences will be different. You may be able to relate to someone else's experience, but that doesn't mean that your experience will play out the same way. It may be good and it may be bad. We can't allow the bad experiences of others to stop us from going out and creating our own experiences. So, check out this short episode where I share my thoughts about it. Thanks for listening.

I hope this will help out someone who may be undecided about having to fire a client or customer. A lot of times, we tend to give in to bad clients who can cause our operations to suffer.
