Successful people and athletes generally are personalities that stay positive and keep their eye on the prize. Being optimistic is a trained talent in the sport. There are some athletes that are super positive if they are winning, but as soon as the win factor goes away, their true emotional character can take over. Athletes are known to be aggressive, ego-centered, and resilient at times. These are also emotional components that may give the success as long as the athlete can maintain a given level of respect for coaches and people supporting them. Trying to be happy all the time is a fantasy. The brain’s daily chemical floodgate will present the type of reaction you may have. Being optimistic really is about the athlete seeing the bright spots in their performance and moving on. Training never stops.
