Island Peak is one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal. It is located in the Khumbu region, just to the south of Everest. The peak rises to an impressive 6,189m and provides stunning views of some of the world’s highest mountains. The Island Peak climbing route is technically challenging, but very rewarding. It is a great option for climbers who are looking for a challenge, but don’t want to attempt an 8,000m peak. Island Peak was first climbed in 1953 by a British expedition.
