Later, he has been nominated for a César Award for Best Director along with the Best Picture for his films Léon: The Professional (1994) and the English-language The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999).  Luc Besson has worked on various drafts and his first drafts was Le Grand Bleu when he was so small. Later, he started writing stories, including The Fifth Element (1997), which is his one of the most popular movies.
