The farm used to be in a much worse condition than it is now. There was no water supply, no electricity and no sewage system. Robin and Kelly started working on repairing these things bit by bit until they had everything running well again. They managed to get water supply restored first and then they got electricity restored a few months later. After that they were able to start work on restoring the sewage system which finally finished in 2013.
