Satellite, replica, Cosmos-97 (molecular), metal, wood, plastic, Exhibition Centre, USSR/Russian Academy of Sciences, pre-1985. Full-scale replica of Cosmos-97, the first Soviet satellite to carry a maser for communications research. For this reason it is sometimes referred to as a 'molecular' satellite. The spacecraft consists of a cylindrical, polished metal main body, with rounded caps at either end.
