Public Hearing is back with the second episode of our series focusing on Equity-based Housing Solutions. This week’s episode is part one of our conversation with District Five City Counselor, Etel Haxhiaj (Facebook: Etel for Worcester) who is back on the show for the second time after previously kicking off season two in our episode “How are we going to make sure our cities have a livable future?” Part one of our conversation with Etel explores the “Housing First Model” and the complexities of affordable and equitable housing through the position of city council. We discuss how the city has been addressing housing issues in Worcester through policies and funding opportunities, such as ARPA, and ways that this still could be improved to best support the community.
Public Hearing is a series-based podcast and radio show from Action! by Design about designing sustainable and thriving cities; ones that are rooted in equity, Justice, and Joy. Follow our new Twitter account at @PublicHearingMA!
