If Jesus lived in New Orleans in 2019, I think he may have used restaurant imagery instead of shepherding. “A good head chef or owner of a restaurant cares for their staff...” We can certainly relate to well-run restaurants with happy staff better than we can related to sheep herding. Whatever the image, Jesus cares for us. And as we’ve heard since Easter, Jesus leaves his power of grace, love, and service with the church, so how should we be Good Shepherds to those around us?
