Professor Brad Carrow is my Ph.D. advisor here at the University of Houston. He also grew up in the greater Kansas City area watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. He attended Missouri University of Science and Technology along with doing material science research with Prof. Thomas Schuman. He then moved on to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for his Ph.D. under the advisory of Prof. John Hartwig studying the mechanism of various transition metal catalyzed carbon-carbon bond reactions. He did his postdoctoral research with Prof. Kyoko Nozaki at the University of Tokyo working on functionalizations of polyolefins and copolymerizations. He is now an associate professor at the University of Houston, where we broadly work on transition metal catalysis for cross-coupling reactions and polymerizations that is mechanistically and sustainably driven.
