Professor Noah Burns is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Stanford University. He is a Maine native and received his B.A. in Chemistry from Columbia University as well as completed undergraduate research with Prof. James Leighton. He then went on to receive his Ph.D. from the Scripps Research Institute for his thesis in the Total Syntheses of Haouamine A with Prof. Phil S. Baran. After a postdoc with Prof. Eric Jacobsen at Harvard, he now advises his lab at Stanford working on selective halogenations and practical total synthesis of natural products among other things. He has received an NSF CAREER Award as well as Eli Lilly Young Investigator Award.
