In this episode we cover J. Edgar Hoover and the impact of COINTELPRO. Through his 50 year career, Hoover was instrumental in derailing Black Liberation movements and leaders stretching from Marcus Garvey to Huey Newton. The creation of COINTELPRO was birthed during Cold War but became a weapon aimed at civil rights activist amongst others. We touch on some of the most nefarious acts including Martin Luther King's suicide Package, the 1969 killing of 2 Black Panthers on UCLA campus as well as the exposure of COINTELPRO through the burglary of the FBI field house in Media, Pennsylvania.
