This episode is for single mothers, with an emphasis on Black single motherhood. In this episode we explore the dichotomy between how we raise and indoctrinate our boys versus how we negatively label our girls. We also take a hard look at social archaic concepts such as purity culture. For the Black community we see this employed when we label our girls as "fast tailed". The heartbreaking experiences many Black girls faced growing up was discussed in the #FastTailedGirls hashtag created by Mikki Kendall. It's time we reevaluate our approach to parenting so we are no longer enabling sexism to run rampant within our community.
