The Department of Human Services recently introduced a new tool to determine whether applicants meet the level of care criteria for Medicaid-funded long term services and support, the Functional Eligibility Determination (FED) tool.

This program explained how the FED works, offered some early advocate experiences with it, and discuss strategies for successfully contesting functional eligibility denials.
