This episode answers really the root of all family history research - how to know if a record is for our ancestor or not.
There are 6 Questions that you need to ask yourself before attaching a record to a relative in your family tree:
Who? - who is the record about?
What? - what is the record and what information is it providing?
When? - when did it take place?
Where? - where did it take place?
Why? - why might there be a conflict?
How? - how likely is it correct?
As we ask ourselves these questions, we can better decide if a record is correct or not.
