The illustration of the shepherd and his sheep is used to portray the relationship between God and His people. Sheep are not very wise animals…they cannot survive without a shepherd. Comparatively, we can be stubborn and "go our own way." But, the Bible says that Lord, our Shepherd, will guide us. Psalm 23:3 states, "He leads me in the path of righteousness for His name's sake."
