Second Timothy 3:12 tells us, "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." It should be no surprise to us that we will suffer for Christ’s sake. Chapter four of First Peter begins by saying, "Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin." In order to be able to stand against opposition and suffering we must arm ourselves with the same attitude as Christ.
