In chapter three, Paul speaks to Timothy about the qualifications of leadership. The words bishop, elder and pastor are used interchangeably throughout the New Testament. It was Paul’s practice to appoint elders to lead each church he established. These men would be assisted by deacons. Today, we will hear about some of the qualifications for one desiring to be an elder or pastor. Paul said, "Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach."
