Today we consider a story about two men. One man was a Pharisee, a devout religious Jew. The other was a despised publican who worked for the Roman government. When the Pharisee prayed, he bragged about himself. Scripture tells us that he said, "God, I thank you that I am not like other people--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector." He was proud and he looked down on others. Yet the Bible tells us “For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” Let’s join Pastor John now as he teaches from Luke 18 today with the message Hope for the Sinner….
