In chapter 24 we see that the sanctity of marriage and family are very high on God’s priority list. Here we find one of the most detailed references on the law of God concerning divorce. Moses was not commanding or instituting divorce, but regulating the process. It was a temporary concession due to the hardness of peoples’ hearts, but God did not originally intend it.
