Religion can be a difficult system to navigate and is not for the faint of heart. As individuals desire an integration of faith into their lives, those who find themselves becoming more deeply integrated into their faith community also find navigating the complexities of rigid boundaries and transactional interpersonal relationship to be quite difficult.

In this episode of The Bind, we explore some of those nuanced complexities that often leave people with a bad taste in their mouth when it comes to the one-sided expectation and accountability often indoctrinated into church bodies. We wrestle with what it means to be lured into faith systems with grandiose gestures of care and affection only to be met with cold boundaries when push comes to shove. This session is one of a multiple part series in which we will explore the importance of personal value sets, critical thinking, and authority within religious systems.

For any non-believers or those who do nat subscribe to the Christian faith, I invite you to listen to this session with an open mind knowing that while the Christian faith has its own unique complexities, hierarchal systems is not exclusive to this particular religion.

Come, grow, challenge your inner thoughts regarding how to navigate a system that needs you to thrive while simultaneously expecting unquestioned obedience and discern for yourself whether that is a healthy formula or not.
