Let's dive into yet another topic of the day.
That's why should I even care about sustainability???
If you are a technology-related person, you need to include sustainability in your personal and professional life. It is because the technology industry linked with sustainability is in the spotlight and therefore, is converting quite a few bucks.
Sustainability is good for business owners:
It is seen that the business linked with sustainability has better financial situations even in the gloomy times of COVID19. Since the consumers are becoming more responsible towards their choices, green firms are generating a very good turnover. The investors are inclined towards sustainable firms, and the stocks are favouring them as well. The segments of green energy, e-waste management, and other similar firms are getting higher ROI with other monetary benefits.
Sustainability is good for the planet:
We all talk about the importance of a clean and healthy environment but do we really work towards it?
Keeping mother Earth clean is as important as cleaning your office space. Mankind is running towards artificial intelligence leaving oxygen behind. We are the generation with maximum access to technology. So, it becomes our duty to protect the Earth even if we need the help of technology. Using sustainable methods such as green energy is one of the best opportunities for this motive.
**There are many companies that have appreciated their awareness regarding sustainability.
Let’s start with IKEA:** Ikea takes the term very seriously, from its supply chain to power used in stores. They use woods for making furniture from sustainable foresters. The source 100% of its cotton from farms that abide by the Better Cotton standards. Apart from that, they have more than 700000 solar panels installed which supply electricity to the entire store.
PANASONIC: Panasonic is one of those companies that don’t get much media coverage but it gets a high rank from the industry experts. They have been working very closely with sustainability for a very long time. They even shifted their headquarters from suburban Seacaucus to a LEED-certified building in downtown Newark. The only motive behind this was to reduce the carbon footprint by reducing the traveling distance of their employees.
