On August 14, 2023, Arizona Public Service (APS) began powerline maintenance activities in the Granite Basin area on Prescott National Forest (PNF) lands to replace various powerline structures on the Prescott-Bagdad 115 kilovolt (kV) transmission line. Construction crews will be working around the proximity of developed recreation sites in the Granite Basin area and associated recreation trails that also serve as administrative access for APS to service the transmission line and will be progressing to the west towards the Alto Pit developed trails system.
