Tempe is one step closer to bringing more affordable housing to the city with this week’s demolition of the former Food City center in the Apache Corridor. Purchased by the city in 2021, the property will be transformed into an affordable living hub with easy access to light rail and the city’s neighboring resource center. “Residents have told us that expanding affordable housing is a top priority.
