We had the pleasure of meeting with Faith, who is known as the Executive Camper, and has been on the road by herself for the past two and a half years.  Newly divorced and looking for a change, Faith stepped out on a leap of faith, decided to sell it all and hit the road.  That's not to say there weren't some learning curves along the way.  Listen to us as we talk about some of the tips and tricks that Faith has that she can provide in hopes that others may learn from her experience.

Here are some highlights to consider if you are a single women who is looking to hit the road in an RV for a new lifestyle or even just a weekend getaway.

  • Be prepared.  When preparing to get on the road, consider what your options are in terms of purchasing an RV or camper.  What will work best for you and what your goals are?  A van?  A fifth wheel?  If purchasing, as annoying and counterinitiative as it may be, financing may be a challenge as a single women with no debt.  Consider and secure your options prior to going to a dealer.
  • Never be where you say you are.  Be careful about who you disclose your location to, especially on social media.  If you post on social media, consider posting your pictures and stories after you leave a location.
  • Have a check in buddy.  Think of a family member or friend that you call every day or on the regular that you can check in with and let them know where you are.  Have them expect your call and discuss what to do should they not hear from you.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.  This may go without saying, but be aware of what is around you.  Go on walks, familiarize yourself with your neighbors and your campground.  And if your RV space doesn't look right or you feel uncomfortable, move.  The nice thing about traveling alone is that you don't owe anyone anything.  If you don't like it or it isn't right, move on.
  • Enjoy.  You got this girl.  It's an amazing journey and not everyone can do what you're doing, alone or not.  You are awesome.
