In recent years, students who scored well in class were exempt from the cumulative semester test. This school year we switched to the alternative calendar which changed some things.

• The new calendar has fewer school days = fewer student-contact days (were used for review days)
• Admin decided not to give an exam in exchange for students attending all school days
• Some students do best in day-to-day work but perform poorly with cumulative tests--some may have test anxiety, time conflicts to study, etc.
