We talked about goal setting in the last episode, episode 88, and I talked about visualizing your goals.
Visualizing them first before you set them is important, and doing a brain dump into a notebook really helps with that.
Today we’re talking about visualizing your goals after you’ve set them.
I love doing that through a vision board.
As creative minds here in the wedding industry, we love pretty things and seeing them come to life.
Our brains scientifically also benefit from seeing things come to life.
Did you know that if you think about (and visualize, even like on a vision board) what you want, your brain can see it as already happened, and that helps you achieve that goal even more effectively?
That’s a whole other topic, but it’s the basis for making a vision board.
I love doing mine digitally and having it as the wallpaper of the lock screen on my phone.
It’s super fast to make, and I see it every time I pick up my phone, which means my subconcious brain gets to see it every time I pick up my phone too!
I’ll run through mine real quick here to give you an idea.
I’ll put the image of it in the show notes for this episode.
Holding heart: Health - physical, mental, spiritual
Falling cash: More financial abundance - more disposable income to make a bigger different in the world
House keys: Adding 4 properties to our real estate portfolio
Olive branch: Peace in everything
Make it happen quote: includes coffee and a heart, two things I love
Image of construction hat, blueprints, etc.: Safety - safety in everything, health, everything, but also we have a huge construction project here at our loft building that we’re very involved in, so it’s symbolic for the wrap up of that too
People: symbolic of more people… like you… that I can help to grow their business so they can also make a bigger impact in the world
A clock set to 10:00: Simply a reminder to go to bed by 10pm every night.
A plane in the air: My goal is always to travel, so it’s symbolic to that, it’s also a small plane, I’m going to fly private instead of commercial at least once this year.
You can see that some are big, some are small, some are more values based, some are tangible, some are encouraging, just make it your own and have fun with it.
Hot tip: You can update your vision board quarterly, or I kind of like leaving it for all year and having that reflection and reminder of the things I’m achieving.
As always, you’re invited into our mastermind where we dive deeper into the things we discuss here.
