I love definitions, so let’s start right off the bat with two definitions of the same word.

The word is “only”.

The title of this episode is “There’s No Such Thing as Only.”

I want to challenge you to eliminate the word only from your vocabulary, I’ll tell you why in this episode.

Here are the two definitions I want to share with you.

  1. Nothing more.

  2. Except that.

Let me break it down for you with some practical examples.

1. I only have one venue referring me to their clients.

OR you can see it as

2. I have a venue that refers me to all of their clients, and my calendar is sold out because of it!

See what happens when you remove ONLY?

What is it doing for you and your business when you remove the word only?

  1. It improves your mindset. Don’t you have a lot more confidence at the consideration that ONE vendor relationship could fill your entire calendar?

That improved mindset is the game changer in your confidence level, and it shows.

It grows your business.

Your future clients see the confidence, and your vendor relationships see the confidence. It’s huge.

  1. It works to your advantage with the law of attraction. Okay I know this is going to lean a little woo, hang with me.

The law of attraction is actually a proven science.

The word only, is limiting.

It’s limiting the amount of goodness that you can attract.

Remove it, and you attract more. End of discussion. Just try it, it doesn’t cost you anything.

Literally in this example we traded out the word only for the word A. It’s so simple it’s scary.

  1. It puts more value on that one thing that you do have.

Can you imagine if you have one amazing human with an event booked with you… and that human overheard you saying to a friend, “oh I only have one event booked”.

Wouldn’t that client feel so devalued?

I would for sure! I would definitely be reconsidering my choice for booking with someone who felt this way about me.

On the flip side, if I overheard you telling a friend, “I have the most amazing client with an event coming up soon and I’m so excited about it!”, I would feel so excited and energized that I chose you to do business with!

See how that works? It’s truly a magical thing.

Hot tip: Think about something in your business that you’re feeling defeated about because it’s “only 1… or only a few”.

Maybe it’s a booking, a vendor relationship, a client, a review, a DM in social media, a view on a post, whatever it is.

That is literally one human who has put their trust in you.

One human who you could sit across the table from and have a conversation.

All it takes is one. Your first of everything is always the hardest, but once you know that one person wants to interact with you, that’s your sign that there’s no limit now!

You know, in the online space, sometimes 100 seems like a small number.

Think about 100 instagram followers.

If you’re thinking, oh I only have 100 instagram followers, or 20 or 2000 or whatever it is, imagine that amount of people in your home! It’s a lot of people!

Start practicing taking the word only out of your vocabulary, and watch for what happens.
