Eileen Sheil is the Vice President of Global External Communications at Medtronic, which she joined in March 2020.
After 17 years at Cleveland Clinic, Eileen came to Medtronic as the Executive Director of Corporate Communications and chief spokesperson worldwide. Based in Cleveland, the health system is the largest employer in Ohio and second-ranked, Best Hospital in the United States.
Before Cleveland Clinic, Eileen worked in public relations, communications, and advertising at Kaiser Permanente, University Hospitals of Cleveland/Rainbow Babies’ and Children’s Hospital, and Traynor, Breehl and Glazen Advertising.
Eileen is a member of the board of trustees at Ohio University (Athens, Ohio) and The Institute for Public Relations (IPR). She is also a member of The Arthur Page Society. She is passionate about PR measurement and has often presented on the topic at communications conferences across the country.
Eileen holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism degree in Advertising Management from Ohio University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Cleveland State University.
